How to make a buck using foam insulation board

cardboardshapestraced.jpeg

Use cardboard to design the side profile and the top view of your tank.

When making the top view, make only one-halve of it, then flip it over to trace the opposite side.

Cut tunnel height pieces in this step before gluing everything together.

Trace your tank side profile template multiple times to get the width of the top profile. (number of times may vary depending on how thick your foam board is)

Cut each piece out. (hacksaw blades work great for this.)

Use a spray adhesive to glue all the pieces together.

Place glued foam on its side and place a book or other heavy pressure item on top and let sit overnight. Make sure not to dent the foam.

Once dry, trace the top view template as shown, and begin rough cutting to shape. (Hacksaw blades also work well for this.)
